In a continuation of the ideas examined in ‘The Cross in Banwell Woods’, this series uses a second scheduled monument on the same hill to examine what happens if the same method is used, but this time the camera is set up so that the central image of the triptych looks away from the centre of the designation rather than toward it. As such, the landscapes created feature spaces beyond the place named and celebrated through the designation. The act of photographing these spaces beyond the designated landscape is intended to create new landscapes that invite viewers to question how the land is culturally valued.
